Dr. Permyos Ruengsakulrach

Dr. Permyos earned his MD from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, in 1990 and a PhD in clinical studies from Melbourne University in 2001, focusing on the radial artery as a conduit for coronary artery bypass grafting. He completed a second PhD in Mathematics at Mahidol University in 2007. Dr. Permyos trained in cardiac surgery at the University of Toronto, specializing in radial artery grafts, aortic surgery, and minimally invasive procedures. He is currently a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at Bangkok Heart Hospital, where he also serves as Director of Cardiovascular Research and an ethics reviewer. His research includes intramyocardial angiogenic cell precursors for cardiomyopathy, off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, and carotid endarterectomy. In 2018, he completed a Fellowship in Research Ethics, collaborating with multiple universities and WHO initiatives.
